New Delhi: The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, directing him not to visit the Chief Minister’s office or meet any witnesses involved in the ongoing case. Additionally, Kejriwal is prohibited from accessing any official files related to the case.
The court has set a bail bond of Rs 50,000, along with one surety of the same amount. However, Kejriwal’s release from jail is delayed as he remains under arrest by the CBI.
The New Indian has obtained the court order detailing the bail conditions, which include:
- Furnishing bail bonds worth Rs 50,000 with one surety of the same amount to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent.
- Restriction from visiting the Chief Minister’s Office and the Delhi Secretariat.

Furthermore, the order specifies that “Kejriwal shall be bound by the statement made on his behalf that he shall not sign official files unless it is required and necessary for obtaining clearance/approval of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. Kejriwal will not make any comment regarding his role in the present case.”
The apex court has emphasized that Kejriwal is not to interact with any witnesses or access any official files connected to the case. The matter has been referred to a larger bench for further consideration.
