Kawar Yatra 2022: U’khand Forest Department Deploys QRTs To Check Human-Wildlife Conflict

DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand state forest department has deployed quick reaction, rescue teams (QRTs) to check human-wildlife conflict as the devotees pass through areas where confrontation with wild animals is likely.

“The quick reaction teams have been deployed on the routes adjacent to the forest areas keeping in mind the possibility of wild animals straying into areas from Weber devotees pass. Quick reaction rescue teams, a team of trained catchers have been deployed to the sensitive points of the route,” said Sameer Sinha, chief wildlife warden, Uttarakhand state forest department.

The yatra which begins today is set to witness the visit of more than 4 crore pilgrims.

The state government has already declared the 60km route from Neelkanth to Haridwar as ‘Mela Area’ from where the devotees will pass on foot.
