SRINAGAR: Youth 4 Panun Kashmir (Y4PK) and Panun Kashmir have unequivocally denounced Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s insincere outreach regarding the resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits, calling it a calculated ploy to distort history while the extremist ideology responsible for their exodus remains unchanged. They assert that this is yet another attempt to sanitize the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus and manipulate public opinion.
Rahul Kaul, Chairman of Y4PK’s Apex Committee, compared Mirwaiz’s initiative to previous failed attempts, particularly the one spearheaded by Altaf Bukhari, which the Kashmiri Pandit community overwhelmingly dismissed. “This is a repeat of the same deceptive strategy. The Kashmiri Pandits saw through that sham and rejected it outright. Mirwaiz and his ecosystem of separatists are again staging an illusion of reconciliation while refusing to accept their role in our ethnic cleansing. We reject this false narrative completely. Our only rightful return is through Panun Kashmir—a separate, secure, and self-governed homeland under the Indian Constitution,” he declared.
Vithal Chowdhary, President of Y4PK, lambasted these so-called reconciliation efforts as mere propaganda. “Just as we rejected Altaf Bukhari’s politically motivated initiative, we reject this latest attempt by Mirwaiz. The harsh reality remains unchanged—terrorist networks continue to operate in Kashmir, targeted killings of minorities persist, and the ideology that fueled our genocide is still alive. We refuse to be pawns in another deceptive game.”
Digamber Raina, General Secretary of Y4PK, strongly condemned Kashmiri Pandits who attended Mirwaiz’s outreach event, branding them as traitors. “We have infiltrators among us—Kashmiri Pandits who serve as a fifth column for separatists. These individuals do not represent the exiled community. Just as those who aligned with Altaf Bukhari were shunned, these new collaborators will be exposed and rejected. We warn them—DO NOT exploit the emotions of our people.”
Ashwani Bhat, a senior member of Panun Kashmir, challenged Mirwaiz’s sincerity. “If Mirwaiz is genuine, let him first acknowledge and apologize for the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits. Let him publicly denounce those who murdered, assaulted, and drove Hindus from their homeland. Until then, his words are meaningless. We saw this deception with Altaf Bukhari, and we see it now. Kashmiri Pandits will not be misled again.”
Rajesh Kachroo, another senior member of Panun Kashmir, issued a stern warning. “This is not the first attempt to deceive our community, nor will it be the last. We warn both separatists and their accomplices within the Kashmiri Pandit community—our patience has worn thin. We will expose and remember those who betrayed their people. We do not need Mirwaiz’s approval to return. We will reclaim our homeland on our terms, with dignity and justice.”
Reiterating their stance, Youth 4 Panun Kashmir and Panun Kashmir issued a final declaration: “We will not allow the erasure of our genocide, nor will we tolerate betrayal from within. Our community has rejected such fraudulent narratives in the past and will continue to do so. The only just and rightful solution remains Panun Kashmir.”
