Kashmir Police Organises Singing Competition ‘Chhoona Hai Aasman’ In Srinagar

SRINAGAR: A zonal-level singing and music talent hunt competition ‘Chhoona Hai Aasman’ for budding Kashmiri artists was organised by the Kashmir Zone Police at Tagore Hall in Srinagar on Saturday.

Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar was the chief host of the event which was organised after a hiatus of two years owing to Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking on the occasion, IG Vijay Kumar said the Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to providing platforms to talented people especially the youth in various fields in the Union Territory.

Speaking on the occasion the IGP congratulated SSP PCR Kashmir and his team for organizing the event successfully. He praised the contestants for their exemplary skills and talent.

“The sole objective of these programmes is to provide a platform to the children and youths who are otherwise unable to explore opportunity for showcasing their talent before the world. This programme will continue to provide opportunities to many talented youths of Jammu and Kashmir,” he told the gathering.

A total of 20 participants under three different age group categories who had qualified at three range levels — Central Kashmir, North Kashmir and South Kashmir Ranges — participated in today’s zonal-level competition.

The participants who qualified in today’s talent hunt will now compete at the UT level.

Cash rewards of Rs 12,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 8,000 were awarded to first three position holders respectively in all the three categories.

In sub junior category, the first position was bagged by Moin-ud-Din, second position by Rahil Ali and third position by Tabish Hafeez. In junior category, the first place was achieved by Basit Yatoo, second by Bisma Sajad and third by Mohd Inaytullah. Owais Ashraf, Junaid Ahmad, and Sheema came at the first, second, and third positions respectively in the senior category.

Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Police of the Central Kashmir Range and North Kashmir Range, SSP Srinagar, and SSP (PCR) Kashmir were among the police officers present on the occasion.

IG Vijay Kumar, chief guest Snehal Priyanka, DIG Central Kashmir Range and DIG North Kashmir Range presented mementos to jury members Mir Muneer, Mir Aijaz and Aabid Ali, and also to the nine winners.
