NEW DELHI: A minor boy along with three of his accomplices has been apprehended for allegedly opening fire at a 36-year-old man in full public view in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri in a revenge attack.

As per the Delhi Police, the victim had beaten up the father of one of the apprehended teenagers around seven months back, for which they planned to take revenge on Friday.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the victim, Javed, sitting on stairs near his home when three teenagers approach him, and one of them opens fire with a country-made pistol.

The man collapsed after receiving bullet injuries in his face. He was rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital and later shifted to another hospital.

Some children were playing around Javed at the time of the incident but, thankfully, none of them were hurt.

“On enquiry, it was revealed that injured Javed sustained bullet injury in his right eye. He told the police that when he was present near the park of H-3 Block at about 4.45 pm, three minor boys known to him came there and one of them fired a bullet in his face and then ran away,” said a police officer.

The condition of the victim is presently stable, the officer said.

A case was registered under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and the weapon was recovered, said the police.
