NEW DELHI: Having been stranded in New Delhi for over 24 hours, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau finally was able to leave the grounds of India on Tuesday. He was scheduled to depart on Sunday, the final day of the G20 Summit held in the national capital, however, owing to certain technical difficulties and a turn of fate, he had to overstay. Another plane which was supposed to arrive at Trudeau’s aid, in a strange course of circumstances, was diverted from London.

Minister of State for the Information and Technology ministry Rajeev Chandrasekhar was present at the Indira Gandhi International Airport to see Trudeau off, wishing him the best and thanking the Canadian PM for his presence at the G20 Summit.
The recent experience of the Canadian PM on Indian soil was one built out of exceeding frustration when he could not be spotted at the G20 Gala Dinner. Many have speculated that his boycott of the dinner was because of Canada not being a member state and merely an observer nation in the Global Biofuel Alliance.

Speculation has been brought forward on other fronts as well where concerns regarding Justin Trudeau still batting for Khalistani extremists in Canada have been brought under the scanner as well. “We will respect people’s right to expression,” answered Trudeau when questioned about rising trends of Khalistani separationism in the country.

Earlier, during a bilateral meeting between Modi and the 51-year-old Canadian PM, the former had raised concerns regarding growing secessionist forces in Canada, expressing displeasure at the lack of action being taken against them.
Successively, following the G20 Summit, the Khalistani separatist group based in Canada, Sikhs for Justice, conducted a referendum calling for the formation of Khalistan, on Monday. The turn of fate for PM Trudeau’s plane being stranded in Delhi may possibly work as a wake-up call for him to heed the needs of not just his citizens but also the denizens of the global world.
