Journalist, Mumbai Traffic Constable And Auto Driver Get Embroiled In Brawl

Twitterati were livid with constable and raised their concerns about his churlish behaviour.

A journalist in Mumbai travelling from Bandra To Kurla on Friday got embroiled in a fiery fight with a police constable.

Varun Singh was looking for an auto to reach his workplace in the morning but all the drivers kept refusing him. So, he went to the police constable and asked for the help. The police constable, instead of helping him, raised his hand when he was asked about his name plate. Singh recorded the incident on video and posted it on Twitter.



“Dear @MumbaiPolice I have been brought by a Police to Kurla for telling a police constable of @MTPHereToHelp to do his duty. I was almost knocked by the auto too the police officer sat in an auto. Didn’t help and took offence that I told him to help people get Auto,” tweeted Singh.

“Throughout the journey the police officer threatened me that he would eat my job, and even tried to raise hand on me,” he added.

When The New Indian contacted him, he divulged that the constable was relentlessly abusing him while they were on the way to the police station. “When we were on our way to the police station, he kept abusing me. He was trying to threaten me by saying he is a policewallah and will show me what he can do. I didn’t say anything and maintained composure,” Varun stated.

“When I asked him about his name plate, he got furious and tried to hit me. I didn’t allow it and foiled the assault. He didn’t know I was recording the entire incident on video. I will show it to the police,” the journalist said.

Twitterati were livid with constable and raised their concerns about his churlish behaviour. A host of netizens also expressed their dismay about the safety of common people. Many of them requested former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, Mumbai Police and the state government to fine auto drivers who misbehave with passengers.
