J&K Wushu Team Shines In Sub-Junior National Championship

SRINAGAR: Wushu players from Jammu and Kashmir bagged 14 medals in the 22nd Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship held in Mandi in Himachal Pradesh earlier this week.

More than 1200 athletes from 35 units of the Wushu Association of India participated in the event that was organised between July 9 and July 14.

Athletes of the Union territory secured one Silver and four Bronze medals in the Sanda event besides nine medals including two Silver and seven Bronze in the Taglu.

In the group event, J&K team bagged third position while Manipur and Madhya Pradesh stood at first and second places, respectively. The team received a rousing reception upon its arrival in Jammu.

The medalists include Reyan Bin Reyaz, Kapish Bharat, Rakwal MR, Rishi Khosla, Dhruv Paul, Taranum Sualha Wani, Hiranya Mahajan and Aahan Sharma.
