From special honey to silk sarees – products made by artisans of Jharkhand are a huge hit at this year’s India International Trade Fair (IITF) being organised in New Delhi.

In line with the theme of the trade fair ‘Vocal for Local, Local to Global’, the Jharkhand Khadi Board has displayed Khadi Bundi, Tussar silk sarees, Chandil silk sarees, Kurta pyjamas, and caps made by the weavers and artisans of Jharkhand.

The Indo-western dress has also been aesthetically presented, making the Khadi collection at the Jharkhand Pavilion the cynosure of all eyes.

Jharkhand is a partner state in the IITF at Pragati Maidan.

Apart from 29 Indian states and union territories, several countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Belarus, Iran, Nepal, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Vietnam, China, Tunisia, Lebanon and Turkey participated in the trade fair.

Jharkhand Khadi stall representative Sushant says, “Our khadi stall is drawing huge crowds, reflecting interest in khadi, and leading to an impressive growth in the sale of khadi products at Jharkhand Pavilion this year.”

Apart from handmade products, Jharkhand’s exhibition of organic products, which also offers crucial information related to organic farming, is also attracting visitors.

People visiting the Organic Farming Authority of Jharkhand (OFAJ) stall explore opportunities in the organic sector in Jharkhand, a representative at the stall said.

Jharkhand – the land of forests is aptly represented through a beautifully decorated Department of Forest stall and is in popular demand for honey from the state. The sweetness of the honey is compelling visitors to make a beeline in front of the Forest stall.

JREDA stall of the Department of Energy captures a unique picture of the development story through a 3D model of a solar-powered village in Jharkhand. The tabletop model displayed at the Ranchi Smart City stall is also drawing positive feedback from visitors at the trade fair grounds.

The 14-day mega fair will remain open for the general public and business delegates till November 27 between 10 am and 7:30 pm.
