Speaking on the occasion, CM Soren said that his government is committed to providing KCCs to every eligible and willing farmer in the state.
“To ensure that farmers do not face any shortage of funds, loans worth Rs 1313 crore have been approved under the KCC facility in the last five months, benefitting 1.25 lakh farmers of the state.
Soren said the government aims to double the income of farmers in the coming years.
The JMM government has approved waived off loans of farmers worth Rs 900 crores during its tenure.
“The economy of Jharkhand revolves around agriculture and animal husbandry. The state will prosper in future only when agricultural activities grow. It is our duty to ensure that our farmers are given the respect they deserve”, Soren told the gathering.
Soren expressed disappointment over the fact that the income of farmers is not rising even through prices of commodities have seen a major jump.
