Jharkhand Govt Disbursed Rs 2 Cr As Pending Wages

NEW DELHI: In a major move Jharkhand government cleared the pending wages of Rs 2 crores to the lakhs of workers that had returned to the state during the pandemic.

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the joint efforts made by the Department of Labour and the State Migrant Control Room not only ensured the safe return of the workers, who were affected by COVID but also guaranteed that they are made to be paid their outstanding wages.

Between March 27, 2020, to June 30, 2022, a massive sum of Rs 2.27 crores was made that benefitted 3,108 labourers or workers. Also, a sum of Rs 6.39 crores was paid to the families of 168 workers posthumously by the state government.
