In a shocking display of rancid entitlement, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan snapped at the photographers, who were trying to click her pictures, on Sunday.
A video of her boorish behaviour has gone viral on social media platforms. She was accompanied by her granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda.
When a paparazzo stumbled, Jaya said, “Serves you well.” She added, “I hope you double and fall.”
Jaya also questioned the media contingent. She said, “Aap log koun hain(Who are you)?” She went on to say, “Aap log media se hain? Kaunsi media se hain (From which media house do you belong to)?”

When they answered they were a part of paparazzi teams like Viral Bhayani and Manav Manglani, Jaya feigned confusion. “What? Who? Kaunsa akhbaar hai yeh (Which newspaper is this)?” She then turned away and walked towards the entrance gate of the event.
Her unpleasant behaviour did not go down well with netizens and they slammed her for her unbecoming and insensitive conduct with the paparazzi, who were just doing their jobs.
Jaya is a four-time Rajya Sabha MP from Samajwadi Party and has been in the parliament since 2004. Such insensitive conduct by a Member of Parliament, in the presence of her granddaughter, is certainly deplorable.
This isn’t the first time Jaya got into a tiff with the media. A few days ago, an irate Jaya hollered at the people trying to take selfies with her son, Abhishek Bachchan. She was heard saying, “What are you all doing,” before adding, “Hadd hoti hai (There is a limit).” Abhishek tried to calm her mother down, but to no avail.
Jaya reportedly shares a close bond with her granddaughter Navya. She is often seen on Navya’s podcast ‘What The Hell Navya’, alongside her and Shweta Bachchan. She recently revealed that her grandson, Agastya Nanda, watches ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ often to mock her.
Talking about social media, she said, “I don’t want this negative energy around me. I abhor it and I feel that people who indulge in nasty trolling should be ashamed of themselves.”
