NEW DELHI: Jay Panda, the national vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), received a death threat at his office from an unknown caller on Wednesday. The caller threatened to kill him in a manner similar to the assassination of a cabinet minister in Odisha.
A complaint was filed with the Delhi police on the same day, providing all the details of the death threat, and an investigation is currently underway.

In a press release, the office of Jay Panda in a statement stated, “It is not possible for us to determine whether this constitutes a real threat or was a juvenile prank. However, since such a message should not be taken lightly, a complaint with all the details of the threat call was lodged with the Delhi Police yesterday, and they are investigating the matter.”
According to an official statement, the caller threatened that “the same thing will be done to Jay Panda that was done to Naba Das,” referring to the assassination of the Odisha Cabinet minister.
