A senior police official reported that police teams patrolling the hilly areas of Gandoh intercepted two to three terrorists at Kota Top, leading to an encounter. In the initial exchange of fire, a police constable was injured and has been evacuated to Doda hospital.
Although there is a significant distance between Chattargalla and Gandoh, authorities have not ruled out the possibility that the terrorists involved in both incidents may be the same. Additional forces have been dispatched to the encounter site to resume operations at first light tomorrow.
This marks the second terror-related incident in Doda district in the past two days and the fourth in the Jammu region in four days.
