NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was put on high alert after it received a mail threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the sender claiming to have 20 kg of RDX in his possession.
The sender also threatened that just so the conspiracy is not exposed, he would “commit suicide”.
According to the NIA sources, the Mumbai branch of the anti-terror probe agency received a mail stating that a man has threatened to harm millions of people along with the Prime Minister.
“…I have met with some terrorists, they are going to help with RDX, I am happy that I have got bombs very easily and now I will blast everywhere… I have planned it, 20 sleeper cells will be activated and millions of people will be killed…” the message read.
The NIA sources said that they were tracking the IP address and were gathering other information on the sender. The senior NIA officials, however, remain tightlipped over the issue.
