ITBP Neutralises Two IEDs In Chhattisgarh

NEW DELHI: Indo Tibet Border Police (ITBP) on Friday claimed to have found two pipe-based Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), weighing 10 kg, near Kohkameta Weekly Market Place, Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh. The IEDs were safely neutralized later.

The troops of the 53rd Battalion were on a road opening and search operation in the area when they found the twin IEDs. The IEDs were buried under the soil near a road bend with wires connected to them. The IEDs were found anchored with multiple iron angles under the soil. Both the IEDs were seen wrapped carefully with polythene.

There are 8 Battalions of ITBP deployed in Chhattisgarh in Rajnadgaon, Kondagaon and Narayanpur Districts. The ITBP has been deployed in Chhattisgarh since 2009.
