NEW DELHI: The Indian Armed Forces conducted โExercise Prachand Prahaar,โ a tri-service integrated multi-domain exercise, from March 25 to 27, in the high-altitude terrains of Arunachal Pradesh.
This exercise showcased the seamless coordination between the Indian Army, Indian Air Force (IAF), and Indian Navy, emphasizing their preparedness to operate cohesively across land, air, and maritime domains.โ
โPrachand Prahaarโ commenced with the deployment of advanced surveillance resources from all three services.
The IAFโs long-range surveillance aircraft and the Navyโs maritime domain awareness platforms collaborated with Army helicopters and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to establish comprehensive domain awareness and detect simulated targets. โ
Once targets were identified, a synchronized joint firepower demonstration was executed. This involved the use of fighter aircraft, long-range rocket systems, medium artillery, armed helicopters, swarm drones, loitering munitions, and kamikaze drones to neutralize the simulated threats with precision. โ
Technological Integration
The exercise highlighted the integration of cutting-edge technologies in modern warfare. The employment of swarm drones and loitering munitions, capable of autonomous target acquisition and precision strikes, marked a significant advancement in Indiaโs military capabilities.
These systems, along with attack helicopters and advanced artillery, demonstrated the armed forcesโ ability to conduct operations in a contested electronic environment effectively. โ
Strategic Significance
Conducting โPrachand Prahaarโ in Arunachal Pradeshโs challenging mountainous terrain underscores Indiaโs commitment to maintaining operational readiness along its northern borders.
The exercise served as a clear message of deterrence, showcasing Indiaโs capability to project power and respond to potential threats in high-altitude regions.
A statement from the Eastern Army Command highlighted the success of the operation:โ
โIndian Armyโs Eastern Command along with the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy showcase their integrated multi-spectrum operational capability in the arduous mountainous terrain along the Northern Borders โLong Range Vectors, Precision Artillery, Swarm Drones, Loiter Munitions and Attack Helicopters struck multiple targets with lethal precision in a contested Electronic environment.โ
โExercise Prachand Prahaarโ stands as a testament to the Indian Armed Forcesโ growing emphasis on jointness, technological superiority, and readiness to tackle multi-domain threats. By successfully integrating advanced surveillance, precision strike capabilities, and multi-domain operational planning, the exercise reinforced Indiaโs preparedness to counter emerging challenges along its northern borders.
