INS Nilgiri, the lead ship of the Project 17A stealth frigate class, features advanced stealth capabilities and reduced radar signatures, marking a significant upgrade over the Shivalik-class frigates. It comes equipped with enhanced weaponry, sensors, and modern aviation facilities. INS Surat, the fourth and final ship of the Project 15B stealth destroyer class, builds upon the Kolkata-class destroyers with improved design and combat capabilities. Meanwhile, INS Vaghsheer, the sixth and final Scorpene-class submarine under Project 75, stands out as a diesel-electric submarine known for its exceptional stealth and versatility. Vaghsheer is designed to execute a wide range of missions, including anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, making it a vital asset to India’s naval strength.

Both INS Nilgiri and INS Surat feature modernised sensors, weapon systems, and aviation facilities capable of operating helicopters like the Chetak, ALH, Sea King, and MH-60R. These ships also incorporate modern systems like the Rail-Less Helicopter Traversing System and Visual Aid and Landing Systems, ensuring seamless helicopter operations.

INS Vaghsheer is equipped with advanced sonar systems, wire-guided torpedoes, and anti-ship missiles. Its modular design allows future upgrades, including Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) technology, which enhances underwater endurance.
