The vessel, which departed from Mundra, Gujarat, and was en route to Socotra, Yemen, faced severe weather and onboard flooding. A distress signal from the vessel was detected by an ICG Dornier aircraft during a routine surveillance flight. This prompted immediate action from the MRCC in Mumbai and the ICG Regional Headquarters (North West) in Gandhinagar. The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Shoor, already patrolling nearby waters, was dispatched to the location at full speed. Simultaneously, MRCC Karachi alerted nearby vessels to assist in the rescue efforts.
