SRINAGAR: Two terrorists were killed, while another two were injured when the Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Khour sector of Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday morning.

Official sources said that the infiltrators hailed from Pakistan.

Reportedly, the Indian Army had observed the movement of the four terrorists through CCTV footage along the LoC, attempting to sneak into India with the backing of Pakistani forces. Sources said that the Pakistani Army had set wild grass on fire near their base to blind India’s surveillance system. However, their movements were tracked by both the infiltrating terrorists as well as the Pakistanis by multiple tracking devices and sophisticated radars.

“As the terrorists reached close, the Army personnel opened fire in which two terrorists were killed while two others were injured. The injured terrorists were seen fleeing back to Pakistan along with the body of a terrorist and a consignment of weapons,” official sources said.

Army’s Jammu-based White Knight Corps said the suspected movement of terrorists was captured through surveillance devices during the intervening night of December 22 and 23.

“Effective fire brought down. Terrorists seen dragging one body back across the IB,”  posted on X.

An Army spokesperson shared a video recording of the surveillance, showing four terrorists crossing the border into India under the cover of darkness.

Earlier on Friday, two terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) had launched an ambush against two Indian Army vehicles. This led to nine people being pulled up from a village in the Valley for further questioning regarding the same.
