Sri Lankan Army officers joined their Indian counterparts for a get-together to further celebrate the day, reinforcing the camaraderie between the two forces. Major General UKDPP Udugama, General Officer Commanding 59 Infantry Division of the Sri Lanka Army, who took the Guard of Honour during the opening ceremony, stated that the Joint Exercise aims to build camaraderie, strengthen collective engagement, and reinforce alliances between Sri Lanka and India, reflecting their shared values and beliefs.

Throughout the exercise, Indian troops will introduce their Sri Lankan counterparts to yoga, Indian martial arts, and various tactical skills. This year’s Mitra Shakti focuses on operations in semi-urban environments under Chapter VII of the United Nations Mandate.
