NEW DELHI โ The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to celebrate its 92nd Air Force Day in grand style on October 8, 2024, with a stunning display of Airpower and military prowess in Chennai. The event, marking a significant milestone in the IAFโs journey, will feature a spectacular flypast over Marina Beach, showcasing 64 aircraft from various categories, demonstrating Indiaโs growing air defense capabilities.
This yearโs theme, โBharatiya Vayusena: Saksham, Sashakt aur Aatmnirbharโ (Indian Air Force: Capable, Strong, and Self-Reliant), reflects the IAFโs commitment to safeguarding the nationโs skies while emphasizing its focus on modernization, self-reliance, and unwavering dedication to national security.
The air show promises to captivate audiences with a diverse array of aircraft, including fighter jets like the Su-30 and MiG-29, showcasing their agility and power. Indiaโs pride, the indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, will also grace the skies alongside the formidable Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), demonstrating the nationโs advancements in defense technology.

In addition to these cutting-edge aircraft, iconic and vintage planes such as the Dakota and the versatile Jaguars will be on display, offering a glimpse into the rich history and evolution of the Indian Air Force. For the first time, the Navyโs P8I, a state-of-the-art anti-submarine warfare aircraft, will participate in the flypast, highlighting the synergy between the Indian Air Force and other branches of the military. The Armyโs Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Mk4 will also make an appearance, reflecting the unified defense capabilities of Indiaโs armed forces.
