INDIA alliance leaders abused Ambani but attended his big fat wedding

NEW DELHI: Leaders of the INDI Alliance spotted at the big fat wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Groom Anant Ambani and bride Radhika Merchant tied the knot at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on Friday, July 12.

The wedding turned into a mini INDI Alliance meet when many leaders who used to criticise Ambani were also spotted at the wedding.

Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray and NCP-SP leader Supriya Sule, partners in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, attended the wedding ceremony. Uddhav Thackeray was accompanied by his son and former minister Aaditya Thackeray.

Other politicians who attended the wedding include West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav with his family and RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav with his family.

The political guest list also included Salman Khurshid with his family, Ramdas Athawale, Praful Patel, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and his family, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and his family, and actor-politician Ravi Kishan, adding their unique charm and blessings to the auspicious occasion.

Despite her recent electoral loss in Amethi to Congress’s Kishori Lal Sharma by 1.6 lakh votes, Smriti Irani also attended the wedding with grace and dignity. Irani attended the wedding of her husband Zubin Irani.

Amid the backlash she faced from the opposition because of her defeat, she appeared unperturbed, donning a red saree with golden flower prints, while her husband wore a navy blue outfit. The couple posed for the paparazzi before entering the venue.

The entire top rung of Bollywood actors — from Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Tiger Shroff and Varun Dhawan — were also present, most with their families, while superstars Rajinikanth, Ram Charan and Mahesh Babu led the entourage from down south. Hollywood actors also attended the event.
