India @75: Rajasthan CM Reaches Out To Freedom Fighters, Honours Them

JAIPUR: On the eve of Independence Day, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reached the houses of freedom fighters and garlanded them, while honouring them with a shawl.

Gehlot first went to the house of freedom fighter Ramu Saini located at Dadudayal Nagar in Mansarovar and felicitated him. The Chief Minister, along with Saini, lit the lamp in front of the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, paid floral tributes and hoisted the national flag.

After this, the CM reached the house of freedom fighter Umrao Singh at Ganesh Nagar on Niwaru Road and honoured him. Gehlot unfurled the national flag at his residence.

Gehlot met freedom fighter Subhadra Kumar Patni at C-Scheme’s residence and honored him too and also hoisted the flag there.

The Chief Minister said that the contribution of these veterans to the freedom struggle of India can never be forgotten. They participated in the struggle during their youth and fought to see us free, he added.

Paying homage to the freedom fighters who were martyred, Gehlot said it is because of them that we are breathing the “air of freedom” today. He said that it is our duty to pay respect to the freedom fighters who contributed to the independence.
