NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has received a generous donation of Rs 1 crore to its endowment fund from Amarjit Bakshi, founder, chairman, and managing director of the Bakshi Group of Enterprises.
A distinguished alumnus from the 1967 batch, Bakshiโs contribution is part of a pledge he initiated in 2017 to support his alma mater.
In a statement, IIT Delhi highlighted that the endowment fund aims to build a robust resource pool to bolster research, enhance educational opportunities, and nurture future leaders.

Speaking about his contribution, Bakshi emphasized the pivotal role IIT Delhi played in his professional journey. โIIT Delhi has been the foundation of my professional journey, and I am honoured to contribute to its growth. In addition to his monetary donation, Bakshi proposed a visionary Peer Teaching Initiative at IIT Delhi. The program aims to empower senior students to conduct interactive sessions on subjects they have mastered, sharing knowledge and insights with junior students.
