Hybrid Terrorism Strategic Move By Pakistan: J&K DGP

SRINAGAR: Hybrid terrorism is a strategic move by Pakistan to get the crime committed and to shield the criminal, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh said on Friday.

“But so far the neighbouring country has failed to provide cover to the militants involved in innocent killings,” Singh added while talking to reporters at Anantnag after inaugurating a Women’s Police Station.

DGP said that Hybrid terrorism is a well-planned strategic move of Pakistan to promote a new sort of terror where they want crime to be committed and criminals to go escort free.

“In this type of faceless militancy, hybrid militants kill people including innocents and policemen then go underground in a bid to give the impression that they have done nothing. But police have busted and exposed all such underground modules who were involved in innocent killings,” he said adding that Hybrid terrorism is destined to fail as the police network is very strong to counter it.

The DGP further said that the impression about police working on the anti-front front was wrong and the fact remains that “social crimes” are also being dealt with. “Since militancy has affected one and all in Kashmir, it looks like that police was focussing on handling militancy only,” DGP Singh said.

He said that setting up of women’s police station was a move to bridge the gap between police and women. “We will upgrade the women police stations across Kashmir to provide a breathing space to women. Such stations will also help deal with crimes against women to large extent,” the DGP said

“So far they (Pakistan) have adopted the strategy of killing innocent civilians in Kashmir valley with the intention of that the person gets killed and the killer should not be identified and move freely….This is a new strategy…to commit a sin but invisibly”, the DGP said.

He said, “I must tell you that the good news is that, a sinner is committing a sin and escapes after that which is not possible now as their all strategies are always thwarted.”

The DGP said, “So far all those who have become part of this faceless terrorism and underground modules… they all one by one have been exposed and dealt with the law of the land.

“We have punished with iron hand those who were involved in terror crime and killing of innocent people and they have been litigated during the operations,” Dilbag Singh said.
