Himachal Rolls Out 13 Projects Worth Rs 26 Crore

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur laid the foundation stones for 13 development projects worth about Rs 26 crore in the Doon Assembly Constituency of the Solan district on Saturday. He also announced the opening of the SDM (Civil) office at Baddi to help the locals.

This comes as part of the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of Himachal Pradesh ‘Pragtisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh’.

He said that the State Government has chosen to plan 75 activities throughout all 68 of the State’s constituencies to commemorate the state’s historic 75-year journey of growth.

There were just four districts when the State was created, as opposed to 12 presently. He said that the state’s literacy rate, which was 4.8 per cent in 1948, has increased to 83 per cent. In 1948, there were just 228 km of roads in the State, but today there are approximately 40,000 km of highways connecting every part of the State, he added.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister who promised an industrial package for the State, made the Baddi area into the largest pharmaceutical hub in Asia, he added.

He said that the state’s Bulk Drug Park, which would be built in the Una area, has now received approval from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to him, the park’s anticipated total cost is around Rs 1,200 crore, of which Rs 1,000 crore will be funded by the Government of India for development of common infrastructure facilities.

Thakur said that the world was adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, but due to the able and strong leadership provided by the PM Modi, it was tackled efficiently. He said that a biggest vaccination campaign was successfully launched in the country under the able leadership of PM Modi. Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh was ranked first in administering of first and second doses of vaccines and its efforts were even appreciated by the PM and even termed Himachal Pradesh as ‘Champion State’ in Covid-19 vaccination.

The Chief Minister said the current State Government altered the tradition of politics based on retaliation and revenge as soon as it took office in 2017. According to him, the State used to be split up based on the colour of the caps, but he changed this tradition, and now it is up to the populace to change the custom of never electing a new government. The State’s citizens have decided to ensure that the BJP returns to power in the upcoming elections, he added.

The CM said the Congress leaders were misleading the State’s citizens by making phoney promises with an eye on the polls. He asked the state’s citizens to give the government a full five-year term because the corona epidemic had a negative impact on more than two years of the current term.
