The victim Siddharth Bakaria is now constantly receiving threat calls from Canada and the USA. He was also attacked by a group of people out of which one of them was dressed as Nihang Sikh.

Bakaria has written to the Superintendent of Police, Chamba District, (HP) in this connection.

However, as of now, the police have not taken any action.

“I, Siddharth Bakaria, a resident of Tehsil Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh, am writing to bring to your attention a serious threat to my life. I am an environmental and social activist, and I have been actively voicing my opposition to the anti-India Khalistani movement through my social media, particularly on Twitter. Recently, I tweeted about a Khalistani separatist poster of Bhindranwale that was put on a vehicle in Banikhet, Himachal Pradesh, on August 16, 2024, at 6:43 PM. Following this, I started receiving death threats, abuses in the comments section of my post, and even phone calls from individuals in the USA and Canada,” read his complaint.

The victim has further narrated that during the morning walk on Chamba Road, he was stopped by a group of individuals who were in a car having no number plate. They threatened him and attempted to attack him.

He said that the people in the car were speaking Punjabi, and one of them was dressed as a Nihang Sikh. He somehow managed to escape and safely return to his home.

“Given the seriousness of the situation and the threats I have been receiving both online and in person, I request your immediate intervention in ensuring my safety. Kindly take necessary action against those responsible for these threats and provide protection to me during this time,” he stated in his complaint.
