A havan performed with the aim of eliminating the lumpy virus, that resulted in the death of a large number of cattle in Rajasthan, turned bumpy when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers clashed with Congress councillors over the problems faced by the public.

The havan was being conducted at Jaipur Municipal Corporation-Heritage (JMC-Heritage) headquarters. While the BJP workers came to protest about problems faced by the public and the Congress councillors came to perform the havan to eliminate the lumpy virus.

In an attempt to prevent BJP workers from entering the site, the JMC-Heritage office gates were closed. However, the protesting workers entered the premises through other routes and sat down to protest near the havan venue.

Things reached their peak when Mayor Munesh Gurjar, who had organised the rituals, arrived to start the havan. The protesting BJP workers began to raise their voices, which angered the priest, who stopped the rituals in the middle.

BJP workers organised a big demonstration in the walled city of Jaipur demanding the repair of bad roads and better sanitation conditions in the city. They also burnt the effigy of Chief minister Ashok Gehlot during their demonstration.

About six days ago, the workers and officials of the city BJP reached the JMC-Heritage office to give a memorandum on the issue of public problems. But neither the commissioner nor the mayor met them. Following the snub, the workers had warned of a big agitation and demonstration if the problems were not resolved in six days.
