Hatred, Anger Created By Particular Ideology: Rahul Gandhi

After completing a distance of 100 km on Day Six of Bharat Jodo Yatra, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Monday once again took a pot shot at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying there is an “atmosphere of anger and hatred” created by a “particular ideology”.

Addressing a gathering, the Congress MP from Kerala’s Wayanad said, “India has many critical goals to achieve.”

Asserting that the country needs to reduce the sufferings of millions of poor people, the Congress leader said: “It is not easy; it cannot be achieved if India is divided, angry, full of hatred for itself.”

Rahul said that every single person in this country is Indian and “if anybody hates any other Indian, he/she is hating the idea of India itself”.

He further said that you can show the rest of the country what it means to work together. “If India has to be successfull, if India has to be responsible, India can’t do it with violence,” Rahul said.

He also said that we want to fulfill the dreams of millions who want to see their children progress. “We want to remove the fear and reduce the suffering of millions of people,” he pointed out.

Targeting the government further, he said that the conversation in India has been sacrificed. “The voice of the people of this country has been silenced. The institutions have been taken over and captured,” he alleged.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which began on September 7, has till Monday covered 100 out of 3,570 km. The yatra entered Kerala on Saturday evening after travelling for four days in Tamil Nadu from Kanyakumari. The yatra will cross 12 states and two union territories in the next 145 days.
