New Delhi: The FIR lodged with the Sikandradau has revealed that the supporters of Bhole Baba allegedly tried to remove evidence by throwing the belongings of the deceased into nearby fields.

Also, the police didn’t book Bhole Baba alias Surajpal the main speaker as the main accused, the FIR has been lodged against the organizer Dev Prakash Madhukar and others.

According to the FIR, police permitted 80,000 people whereas 2.5 lakh people gathered at the event.

The FIR says that volunteers of Surajpal tried to remove the evidence but didn’t help the police, leading to chaos.

What happened:

The Satsang was organised on the ground on GT Road near the village of Fulrai.

The FIR reads that the organizers knew that more than 2.5 lakh people would gather but the organiser and his associates sought permission for only 80,000 people.

Police personnel were deployed after this to maintain law and order.

“However, police faced huge difficulties as numbers increased to 2.5 lakh. Due to this, it was next to impossible to handle law and order and traffic. Due to this, there was a huge traffic snarl on GT Road. It was happening when the main speaker Bhole Baba alias Surajpal was addressing the Satsang,” read the FIR copy.

How the stampede started:

The FIR reads that when Baba was leaving, the people tried to touch his feet and collect dust off his feet and below his vehicle which led to the stampede.

“As devotees were leaving the event venue around 2:00 pm, a massive crowd of men, women, and children began pushing and shoving to get ahead, creating immense pressure. Despite efforts by organizers and volunteers to control the situation with sticks, the chaos only intensified. The crowd surged forward, trampling and crushing people, including women, children, and men, who were screaming and crying for help,” read the FIR.

The FIR further reads that despite the best efforts of the police and administrative officials, the massive crowd pressure led to many people being trampled and injured.

It says that the victims were rushed to nearby hospitals with great difficulty, but the organizers and volunteers didn’t cooperate with the authorities.

This tragic incident resulted in multiple injuries and fatalities. The injured were taken to hospitals in Hathras, Aligarh, Etah, and other nearby areas for treatment. Senior officials were informed, and additional police forces and resources were requested to assist with relief and rescue operations.

The organisers didn’t help:

“The organizers had underestimated the crowd size and violated the event permit conditions by inviting an excessive number of people. They also failed to manage the traffic at the venue, leading to chaos. In an attempt to conceal evidence, the organizers and volunteers discarded the personal belongings of the injured, including clothes, shoes, and slippers, in a nearby field. This gross negligence and deliberate destruction of evidence resulted in the loss of many innocent lives,” the FIR reads.

Bhole Baba, the organiser and their associates are now on the run. Police is conducting raids to nab them.

More than 130 persons have died in the incident.
