Sand Mafia runs over DSP in Nuh District of Haryana, police rushes to investigate

NUH/NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) rank officer was mowed down by a dumper truck of a sand mafia in Nuh district of Haryana on Tuesday.

One suspect has been arrested in the incident, the Nuh Police said.

Surendra Singh Visnoi, DSP of Tawadu range, had gone for a raid at Panchgaon village in Aravalli Hills.

During the checking, he spotted the truck carrying stones and signaled it to stop. But the driver did not apply brakes and mowed down the police officer, leaving him dead on spot.

The truck driver along with other accused present in the vehicle sped away after the incident.

Senior officers from the police and the district administration rushed to the spot. A search and combing operation was launched.
