NEW DELHI: In fresh trouble to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Yesterday Haryana Police officers Inspector Ashok Kumar and SI Naveen Kumar approached Delhi CJM Anuj Kumar Singh with an application requesting that the summons be served through a Delhi court, as the case was non-cognizable.
However, they were asked to go to Kejriwal house on their own and serve him the summons.
The Haryana court had summoned former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to appear on February 17 in connection with his remarks alleging that poison was being mixed into the Yamuna River.
The case was initially registered in Kurukshetra, Haryana, just a day before the Delhi elections.
The Haryana State Disaster Management Authority had dismissed the claim as mere rumors, but the matter was later taken up in court.
Haryana Police officers—INS Ashok Kumar and SI Naveen Kumar—approached Delhi CJM Anuj Kumar Singh with an application requesting that the summons be served through a Delhi court, as the case was non-cognizable. In this regard, suggestions were taken from public prosecutors which said that Harayana cops should directly go to Kejriwal house.

Sources confirm that the CJM of Sonipat has issued the summons. Kejriwal is expected to appear for the next hearing on February 17.
