NEW DELHI: In the wake of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bail granted by the Supreme Court, Aam Aadmi Party leaders have expressed their jubilation.
Sanjay Singh, an AAP leader, took to X to voice his sentiments, stating, “लोकतंत्र में तानाशाही नहीं चलेगी-नहीं चलेगी। झुकते हैं तानाशाह लड़ने वाला चाहिए। मोदी की अत्याचारी हुकूमत @ArvindKejriwal के हौसलों को नहीं तोड़ पाई। जेल के ताले टूट गये @ArvindKejriwal छूट गये। झूठ का पहाड़ गिर रहा है ED CBI BJP के झूठे केस का पर्दाफ़ाश हो चुका है। सत्यमेव जयते!”
The party’s official handle also shared this message, celebrating the release as a triumph over alleged injustices.
Harbhajan Singh, AAP Rajya Sabha MP, expressed his enthusiasm for the impact of Kejriwal’s release on the party’s morale. On X, Singh posted: “Glad that our beloved leader Shri @ArvindKejriwal Ji got bail in Supreme Court. This will definitely rejuvenate the party workers and give wings to the @AamAadmiParty campaign in Haryana. He will continue to dedicate himself to serving the people.”
Kejriwal becomes the fifth prominent leader to secure bail in the case, following AAP leaders Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, Vijay Nair, and K Kavitha of Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
Justice Surya Kant acknowledged that while Kejriwal’s arrest was legal and procedurally sound, prolonged imprisonment constitutes an unjust deprivation of liberty. He emphasized that bail should be the rule, not imprisonment. In contrast, Justice Ujjal Bhuyan deemed the CBI’s arrest of Kejriwal “unjustified.”
