NEW DELHI: Lewis Hamilton is set to join Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season, marking a dramatic shift after spending his entire career at Mercedes. The seven-time world champion will now team up with Ferrari, aiming for a record-breaking eighth title. As part of this major move, Hamilton will work closely with Riccardo Adami, a highly regarded engineer who previously served as the race engineer for Carlos Sainz and also worked with Sebastian Vettel.

Hamilton’s transition to Ferrari is being taken seriously, with the team making a concerted effort to ensure his smooth integration. Ferrari has arranged a full pre-season testing schedule for Hamilton, which includes sessions at both the Fiorano circuit and the Circuit de Catalunya. These sessions are designed to familiarize him with Ferrari’s car and systems, ensuring he is well-prepared for the new season ahead. The team is also focusing on helping Hamilton build strong relationships with key members of the Ferrari squad, fostering an atmosphere that will support his championship aspirations.

Hamilton’s goal at Ferrari is clear: to win his eighth world title, which would further cement his place in Formula 1 history. Ferrari, on the other hand, hopes that Hamilton’s arrival will help end their title drought, which has lasted since 2008. The pairing of Hamilton with Charles Leclerc, who has been Ferrari’s lead driver in recent seasons, will also create an interesting team dynamic. Hamilton’s arrival could stir up a competitive atmosphere, as both drivers will be eyeing top positions on the grid.

Hamilton himself expressed excitement about the new chapter, saying, “I’m excited to start this new chapter with Ferrari and work with Riccardo Adami. I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.” Adami also shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m honored to be working with Lewis Hamilton. His experience and talent will be a great addition to the team.”

Ferrari Team Principal Frederic Vasseur emphasized the team’s commitment to supporting Hamilton during this transition, saying, “We’re committed to giving Lewis the best possible support as he transitions to Ferrari. Riccardo Adami is a key part of that plan.”

Formula 1 legends, like Nigel Mansell, believe Hamilton will take some time to adjust but foresee a resurgence at Ferrari. “It might take him a couple of tests to get comfortable, but I see a total resurgence at Ferrari,” Mansell said. However, former technical director Gary Anderson noted the change in team dynamics. He stated, “For Charles Leclerc, there won’t be the same family team atmosphere that Sainz brought to Ferrari. With Hamilton, a seven-time champion, joining, it could be completely different.”

As Ferrari prepares for the 2025 season, Hamilton’s arrival adds new excitement to the team and the championship race, setting the stage for what could be an unforgettable season.
