In a bid to woo the voters in the upcoming Gujarat elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) promises to withdraw all the cases related to various agitations that have happened in the state in the last 27 years.

Announcing the key decision in Surat on Sunday, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said, “If AAP comes to power in Gujarat, then all the cases related to movements like the Kisan movement, Patidar movement, Dalit movement and other movements will be withdrawn.”

Kejriwal, who is the Chief minister of Delhi, also said that AAP will give the people of Gujarat the right to choose their Chief Minister.

“We ask the people of Gujarat to tell us who should be the next chief minister. Even if the person is not from our party and you choose him/her to become a CM, then we will also make him/her a CM,” Kejriwal announced.

Kejriwal also shared the phone number, 6357000360, and email address where the people of Gujarat can send the name of their choice for the CM of the state. People can send voice messages, WhatsApp and SMSs till November 3. The results will be announced on November 4.

“The messages will be accepted till November 3 and on November 4, we will reveal the name before the people,” Kejriwal said. “BJP did not ask the people of their choice when they removed Vijay Rupani to bring in Bhupendra Patel as the CM of the state. We will not do that. The AAP seeks public view,” he added.

Criticising the BJP, Kejriwal said, “The BJP has no plan for the next five years. Inflation is a big issue across the country, even in Gujarat.”

Earlier, in Punjab, AAP had conducted a survey in which Bhagwant Mann had emerged as the popular choice. Later, when the party won the Punjab state election with a huge mandate, it made Mann the chief minister of the state, respecting the people’s choice.
