NEW DELHI: In the wake of the Palestinian militant group Hamas’ attack on Israel on Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed condemnation for the turmoil that had been instigated in the nation. Taking to the microblogging site, X, Macron expressed his solidarity with the Israelis, condemning the terrorist attacks as “currently hitting Israel.”
He wrote,
I strongly condemn the current terrorist attacks against Israel. I express my full solidarity with the victims, their families and loved ones.

The French foreign ministry also denounced the attack and expressed that the state “condemns in the strongest possible terms the ongoing terrorist attacks against Israel and its population” following the firing of more than 5,000 rockets into Israel from the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, they have emphasised their unwavering support for Israel. The French Embassy in Israel also emphasised that the acts carried out by the terrorist group were “inadmissible terrorist attacks.”
“Horrified by the developments coming from the south of the country. These terrorist attacks are inadmissible and must be condemned by everyone. We stand side by side alongside Israel and Israelis,” the French Embassy wrote on X.
In addition, the Germans have also expressed their disapproval of the attack. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock showed solidarity with the Israeli government, asserting that “Tel Aviv has the right to defend itself.” She further remarked that Hamas had escalated the violence.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had declared the infiltration to be a bid to war. He asserted, “We are at war and we will win. Not an ‘operation,’ not a ’round,’ but at war.” The terrorists from Hamas had declared this to be an attack to “end the longest occupation in the world.”
