Formula 1 confirms the Dutch Grand Prix will conclude its run at Zandvoort in 2026 after a one-year contract extension.

Formula 1 confirms a one-year extension for the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort, marking its final race in 2026.

New Delhi: Formula 1 and the Dutch Grand Prix promoter have confirmed that the Circuit Zandvoort will remain on the F1 calendar until 2026 after a one-year contract extension. However, it has also been announced that the Dutch Grand Prix will not continue beyond 2026, marking the end of an incredible chapter for the event.

 

The Dutch Grand Prix made its highly anticipated return to the F1 calendar in 2021 after decades, becoming a fan-favourite for its electrifying atmosphere and unique banked corners. Over the years, it has drawn local and international fans alike, largely fueled by the dominance of Dutch superstar Max Verstappen, who has won the race three times since its revival.

Known for its focus on sustainability, the event has also introduced groundbreaking green technologies, influencing other F1 races as the sport works toward achieving its Net Zero goal by 2030. Additionally, the Dutch Grand Prix has supported young talent by hosting Formula 2, Formula 3, and the F1 Academy series alongside the main race.

 

The 2025 Dutch Grand Prix is scheduled for August 29-31, while the final event in 2026 will feature a Sprint race for the first time in Zandvoort’s history. Ticket sales for the 2025 race are already open, with ticketing details for the final race to follow.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali praised the Dutch Grand Prix team for their efforts, stating, “They have set a new standard for European Grands Prix in terms of entertainment and sustainability. We respect the promoter’s decision to conclude its run in 2026 and thank them for their incredible partnership.”

 

Robert van Overdijk, Director of the Dutch Grand Prix, called it a “monumental era,” emphasizing the pride in the event’s success. “This race has been adored by fans, drivers, and teams alike. We’ve decided to finish on a high note with two more spectacular races in 2025 and 2026,” he said.

 

The Dutch Grand Prix will be remembered as a cornerstone of modern Formula 1, blending passion, sustainability, and world-class racing into an unforgettable experience.
