NEW DELHI: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that he will be heading to southern India to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Tuesday.

“Whatever role the party has decided for me, I’ll do it. But it’s not yet decided. Although, I will be asked to go on a few campaigns to the south,” Chouhan said after his meeting with BJP President Jay Prakash Nadda.

After losing out on his position as CM in the state, he claimed his loyalty to the party, illustrating that he would carry out any role decided for him by the party.

Although Chouhan had a popular mandate in the state, BJP MLA from Ujjain, Mohan Yadav claimed the CMO. However, this did not dim the spirit of Chouhan.

In his interaction with the media, Chouhan remarked, “I will be in the State as well as the Centre. I don’t think about myself. Whoever thinks about themselves before the party is not a good person.”

However, he also highlighted the fact that for the love and respect of his voters, one does not need a specific seat. “Behnon aur bhaiyon ke pyaar ke liye koi satte ki zaroorat nahi hai (It is not important to be the CM to get the love of my brothers and sisters)”

Presently, he is scheduled to participate in the state’s BJP legislature meeting, on Tuesday.
