Five terrorists killed in Kulgam encounter

SRINAGAR: In a fierce encounter on Thursday, five terrorists were eliminated by security forces in the Kadder region of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The encounter erupted after a joint search operation was initiated by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police based on intelligence inputs about terrorist presence.

As the forces began their operation, they observed suspicious movements. Upon being challenged, the terrorists opened heavy, indiscriminate fire, triggering a prolonged gunfight.

“Operation Kader, Kulgam: Acting on precise intelligence, vigilant forces detected suspicious activity in the area. The terrorists fired heavily when confronted, but our troops retaliated effectively. The operation is still underway,” read a statement from the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps shared on X.
