SRINAGAR: Heavily armed terrorists launched an attack on an Army convoy in the Bota Pathri region of Baramulla near the Line of Control (LoC), claiming the lives of three soldiers and two civilian porters. The fallen soldiers, identified as Riflemen Kaiser from Bandipora and Jeevan from Jammu, served with the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry and were deployed with the 18 Rashtriya Rifles. The civilian porters were Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary and Zahoor Ahmad Mir, both residents of Boniyar, Baramulla.

According to official sources, the terrorists ambushed the Army vehicle in the high-security zone near Gulmarg, leading to the deaths of two soldiers and two porters while injuring three others. The injured were first treated at a Gulmarg facility before being shifted to the 92 Base Army Hospital in Srinagar for further care.

Following the attack, additional forces have been deployed, and an extensive search operation has commenced to track down those responsible. The attack follows another recent attack on migrant workers in Ganderbal, which left seven civilians dead.
