New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Monday filed its first FIR (First Information Report) under the newly launched Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against a rehdi (vendor) owner at Kamla Market Police Station in Central Delhi.
HC Deepak of Kamla Market Police Station was roaming in the area when he noticed that a man was operating a rehdi (roadside illegal shop) near Delux Toilet under the foot-over bridge (pedestrian walkway).
The man was selling Water, Tobacco and Gutkhas. The police said that due to this the pedestrians were facing problems.

“He was creating problems for the people who were using the way. People were also objecting to him. The police asked him to remove his rehdi but he didn’t pay any heed. The police then asked the onlookers to join the investigation but they made excuses and refused to be a witness,” read the FIR.
The police then used the e-praman app to make the video of the illegal rehdi.

“The accused was later identified as Pankaj Kumar a resident of Patna (Bihar). We lodged an FIR under section 285 of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against him,” said the police.
The police said that they were looking into the matter.
