NEW DELHI: YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, has issued a public apology after facing massive backlash for his crude comments on Samay Rainaโ€™s show Indiaโ€™s Got Latent. The controversy erupted after Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate and incestuous question, sparking outrage on social media.

Following the uproar, Ranveer issued a public apology, admitting his โ€œlapse in judgmentโ€ and requesting the showโ€™s producers to remove the offensive parts from the episode. However, his apology has largely been rejected, netizens accusing him of misusing his platform and crossing a line been largely undone.

Following the criticism, Allahbadia shared a one-minute apology video on social media, admitting his mistake and expressing regret.

โ€œI shouldnโ€™t have said what I said on Indiaโ€™s Got Latent. Iโ€™m sorry,โ€ he wrote in the caption.

In the video, he stated: โ€œMy comment was not just inappropriate, it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wished to use my platform and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here to apologise. I had a lapse in judgment. It was not cool on my part.โ€

Allahbadia also acknowledged the concerns raised by his podcastโ€™s supporters, who have hosted politicians and senior leaders. He emphasized that he understands the responsibility that comes with his platform.

โ€œThe podcast is watched by people of all ages. I donโ€™t want to be the kind of person who takes that responsibility lightly. Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect. I need to use this platform better. That has been what I have learned from this whole experience. I promise to get better.โ€

He further added that he requested the showโ€™s producers to remove the controversial segment from the episode. โ€œI have asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections from the video. All I can say in the end is sorry, I hope you can forgive me as a human being.โ€

In a recent episode of Indiaโ€™s Got Latent, Allahbadia appeared as a judge alongside Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija, aka The Rebel Kid. The show, known for its roast format, often features judges making bold and dark humor-based remarks.

However, Allahbadia crossed a line when he asked a contestant: โ€œWould you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join them to finish it once and for all?โ€

The question shocked host Samay Raina, who responded with, โ€œWhat the f*?โ€ The remark sparked an immediate backlash, with viewers slamming Allahbadia for his insensitivity.

The show itself also came under fire, with critics pointing out its history of misogynistic and offensive content.

A formal complaint has also been registered against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and the showโ€™s organizers for the alleged use of abusive language.

While few fans appreciated Allahbadiaโ€™s apology, many social media users remained unconvinced. One X user, Rohan Agarwal, called for stricter action. He wrote โ€˜Ranveer Allahbadia should not get away with just an apology! It is high time that the government should take some serious stepsโ€ฆโ€™

Another user, Lotus, expressed disappointment and warned against celebrities and spiritual leaders appearing on his podcast,โ€™ I hope that no spiritual saints or celebrities, politicians who have clean reputations ever come to your showโ€ฆโ€™

A former fan, Saikiran Thakur, announced his decision to unsubscribe from Allahbadiaโ€™s channels,โ€™ Well, I used to watch your podcasts and will henceforth not watch anymore. I will be unsubscribing from all your channels as one who has no respect for oneโ€™s mother cannot be trusted.โ€™

Despite his apology, Allahbadia continues to face significant backlash. His reputation as a content creator who has built a platform centred on self-improvement and motivation has taken a hit.

With the controversy far from over, it remains to be seen how this incident will impact his future collaborations, his audienceโ€™s trust, and his standing in the influencer community.
