Ferrari fought valiantly, but their efforts fell just short. Carlos Sainz finished second, and Charles Leclerc staged a stunning comeback from 19th on the grid to claim third. Leclerc’s drive was a testament to his skill and determination. “It hurts, obviously,” Leclerc admitted. “The season was so close until the end. We gave it all, but we just came short of our goal.” Meanwhile, Sainz, in his last race for Ferrari before moving to Williams, reflected on the bittersweet finale: “Second place was the maximum we could do today. Congratulations to McLaren—they deserve this championship.”
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix also marked an emotional farewell for Lewis Hamilton, who completed his final race with Mercedes. Hamilton finished fourth, showcasing his trademark skill and determination.
