New Delhi: Delhi Police has recommended the cancellation of a sexual harassment case filed by a minor wrestlers against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
In a “police report”, a special investigation team (SIT) of the Delhi Police told the Patiala House court that the case filed under provisions of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) should be cancelled.
Speaking to The New Indian, public prosecutor Atul Srivastava said that the “cancellation report” was filed based on the statements given by the complainant and her father to the police.
A cancellation report is filed by the police when they are unable to find sufficient evidence to substantiate the allegations made in a case.

It is important to note that on April 28, the Delhi Police had registered two FIRs against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at the Connaught Place Police Station — one based on the allegations of the minor wrestler and another based on six adult wrestlers including Sakshi Malik.
Singh has consistently denied all the charges and expressed his willingness to face the consequences if any of the allegations are proven true.
