GAUTAM BUDDHA NAGAR (UTTAR PRADESH): Pakistan national Seema Haider is now pinning her hopes to acquire Indian citizenship on actor Akshay Kumar after the Khiladi hero took to Twitter to announce he has given up his Canadian passport to become a desi.
Haider’s lawyer A P Singh told The New Indian that the Karachi citizen, who became a bahu of Bharat amid a raft of controversies surrounding her discreet entry and marriage to Greater Noida local Sachin Meena, would continue to press for an Indian passport even as an FIR is pending against her.
“It took more than several decades for Akshay Kumar to get an Indian passport, so why should be in a hurry? We will apply for it and it may take time,” Singh quipped.
