Education Minister Atishi meets UPSC candidates at incident spot in Rajinder Nagar

The Delhi Education Minister assured the students that the government will take all necessary actions to safeguard their well-being, emphasizing that their safety is paramount and any compromise will not be tolerated.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Education Minister Atishi vowed unwavering support to UPSC candidates during a visit to Rajinder Nagar tragedy spot on Wednesday. The Delhi Education Minister assured the students that the government will take all necessary actions to safeguard their well-being, emphasizing that their safety is paramount and any compromise will not be tolerated.

During this, Education Minister Atishi interacted with the students, listened to their demands and promised that currently taking immediate action, the junior engineer of MCD has been fired from the job and the assistant engineer has been suspended. Also, we promise that as soon as the investigation of the incident is completed, strict action will be taken against all the junior and senior officials responsible. No one will be spared.

She said that keeping in mind the convenience of students, government libraries/reading rooms will be built in big coaching hubs of Delhi from the Mayor’s fund. To stop the arbitrariness and irregularities of coaching institutes, the Kejriwal government will bring the ‘Coaching Institute Regulation Act’ and 10 student representatives will also be included in the process of drafting the law.

Minister Atishi shared that the law will curb the high fees charged by coaching institutes; the law will also cover important issues like rent, brokerage, facilities and the safety of students. Until the law is made, an office will be set up in the local MLA’s office to resolve students’ complaints. Government libraries/reading rooms will be built in all coaching hubs from the Mayor’s fund.
