NEW DELHI: Amid Maharashtra political crisis, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday summoned Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut for questioning on Tuesday. He was called in connection with the Pravin Raut and Patra Chawl land grab case.
The ED summons to the Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP comes at a time when the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government is facing a rebellion in Maharashtra.
After the ED summons him, Raut dared the financial probe agency to arrest him saying that this is a conspiracy to stop him.
He took to Twitter and said, “I just came to know that the ED has summoned me. Good! There are big political developments in Maharashtra. We, Balasaheb’s Shivsainiks are fighting a big battle. This is a conspiracy to stop me. Even if you behead me, I won’t take the Guwahati route. Arrest me! Jai Hind!”

Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi slammed the ED for the summons to her party colleague and said, “ED presents biggest devotion to BJP.”
Earlier, the ED had attached property worth Rs 9 crore related to Sanjay Raut’s ‘aide’ Pravin Raut and assets, worth around Rs 2 crore, belonging to Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha in the Rs 1,034-crore Patra Chawl land scam case.
The financial probe agency had filed a charge sheet in a money laundering case against Pravin Raut.
