Indian foreign minister Dr S Jaishankar gave a lesson on democracy to tainted US billionaire George Soros, who has been accused of breaking the Bank of England and the Bank of Thailand.
Soros recently called Prime Minister Narendra Modi an “undemocratic” leader. He said he expected that Gautam Adani’s woes will spurt a “democratic revival” in India.
External affairs minister Dr Jaishankar hit back, saying Soros – who is notorious for making huge wealth out by creating global economies tragedies – invests in manipulating democracies in the grab of promoting open society.
“Mr Soros is an old, rich opinionated person sitting in New York who still thinks that his views should determine how the entire world works…such people actually invest resources in shaping narratives,” he said.
