NEW DELHI: As the anticipation for Shah Rukh Khanโs much-awaited film, โDunki,โ continues to build, the advance booking collections reflect a promising start. According to a report, approximately 1,44,186 tickets have already been snapped up for 6,394 shows on the opening day, December 21, indicating a projected day 1 collection of at least Rs 4.45 crore in India.
The reported figures specifically cover the Hindi shows in the 2D format. โDunkiโ is scheduled to clash with Prabhas-starrer โSalaar: Ceasefire,โ releasing a day later on December 22. The Hindi version of โSalaarโ has already seen around 16,000 tickets, amounting to Rs 55 lakh in sales.
The overall pre-sales for โSalaarโ are estimated to be approximately Rs 3 crores, with advance booking for the Telugu shows yet to commence. The numbers are expected to surge following the release of the filmโs trailer on Monday.

Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala expressed optimism about the response to โDunki,โ tweeting, โDespite not being a Mass Action movie, #SRK โs #Dunki has sold 100K tickets in advance already.โ

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, known for his work on โSanju,โ โDunkiโ boasts a stellar cast, including Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, and Jyoti Subhash.
Shah Rukh Khan recently took flight to Dubai for the filmโs promotion and shared his thoughts on โDunkiโ at Dubaiโs Global Village, stating, โI know that a lot of you people have left your homes and have made Dubai your second homeโฆ This whole film talks about home is where the heart is.โ
As the countdown to the release begins, โDunkiโ is poised to make a significant impact at the box office, drawing audiences with its star-studded cast and compelling narrative about the essence of home.
